It is a great pleasure to invite you to take part in the FORTOX 2017 Conference<\/p>\n
TAKING ACTION TO DECREASE ROAD FATALITIES AND INJURIES\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n
co-organised with the International Council on Alcohol, Drugs and Traffic Safety (ICADTS) in beautiful Bled, Slovenia, from 28-30 May 2017.<\/p>\n

\n <\/p>\n
The invitation to the conference is addressed to both institutions and individuals: from professionals in the fields of law, law enforcement, toxicology, pharmacy, medicine, psychology, traffic safety, public health and administration, to all who monitor developments in road safety and want it to improve.<\/p>\n
2016 was the third consecutive year of poor road safety for many countries in the European Union and certain other countries around the world. A third of traffic fatalities are alcohol related. In order to reach the EU and United Nations strategic target of halving the number of road deaths from 2010 to 2020<\/a>, additional efforts are required.<\/p>\n

\n <\/p>\n
The main topics of the conference are:<\/p>\n
\n
Behavioural toxicology (alcohol, cannabis, medicinal drugs, other drugs, includes legal issues)<\/li>\n
Interventions to reduce impaired driving and traffic injuries<\/li>\n
Road user behaviour (distraction, speed, fatigue, drowsy driving)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

\n <\/p>\n
We will be hosting world-renowned speakers and experts in their respective fields.<\/p>\n
You are invited to prepare your contribution, to share your knowledge and discuss any issues you feel are important.<\/p>\n
The conference represents an excellent opportunity to disseminate knowledge, experience and good practice, and to draw some conclusions for further work.<\/p>\n
